ive never even considered making a self insert until i saw mordecai heller from lackadaisy. he is the ONLY character i like in such a way, hes REALLY important to me
Damon is a miserable, lonely, scared, envious creature who only becomes happy around Mordecai. He has struggled with self destructive tendencies. He is avoidant and suspicious of others. He has tan colored middle fingers on all of his paws to flip you off better than anyone.
When they are in a relationship, Damon becomes comfortable with Mordecai and acts silly. However, there is something dark and suffocating about his affection for Mordecai. Mordecai appears like an unwilling participant as Damon claws his way to him.
He grew up without a support system. His few potential friendships would always fall apart for one reason or another. He was kidnapped and forced to work for the Marigold group. He doesn't have a better place to be, so he stays there.
